SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEEKING HELP OF DRIGGS RESIDENTS ON ARMED ROBBERY CASE AND HOW RESIDENTS CAN SIGN UP FOR CODE RED ALERT SYSTEM

DRIGGS-
According to the Teton County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday 03/24/2022 at approximately 9:26 PM, there was an armed robbery at the Phillips 66 Gas Station located at 111 N Main St, Driggs. The suspect was last seen on foot heading eastbound on Wallace Ave. An emergency notification message was sent to Driggs City residents through the CODE RED ALERT SYSTEM.

Teton County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) dispatch received an abundance of calls from concerned citizens.  “We are not an island of innocence,” TCSO Public Information Officer Mitch Golden commented. Teton County and the City of Driggs while statistically are very safe places to reside are not immune to crime.  “Just because we’re isolated geographically doesn’t mean that we’re immune to crime,” he added.

Mayor August Christensen encourages residents and visitors to use common sense in securing personal property and if anyone has information that would help the TCSO in this investigation, please take the time to help.  "We pride ourselves on safety and community connection in this wonderful small town. While these events happen everywhere in the world, we can be a stronger community through responsible actions and by helping our Officers do their job,” said Mayor Christensen. “Please sign up for important alerts from the CODE RED alert system so you can stay informed."

CODE RED ALERTS are automatically sent to landline numbers in the geotargeted area, however, many residents rely exclusively on cell numbers.  If anyone would like to sign up for alerts through this system, please follow the instructions on the CODE RED ALERT SIGNUP page  and be sure to add the residential location so that messages geographically specific to Driggs or other areas in the county will be received.

At this time, the suspect remains at large. The Sheriff's Office requests the assistance of the public in helping identify the suspect. If any residents or business owners in the Driggs area have security cameras, we encourage them to review any recordings from last night. If any suspicious activity or persons were recorded, please contact the Sheriff's Office at (208) 354-2323. TCSO also encourages all Teton County residents to make sure that their residences and vehicles are locked.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:

Teton County Sheriff Office will continue posting updates on this case on their Facebook Page  and residents can find the most up-to-date information on the case through their Facebook feed. Again, any information should be directed to the Sheriff's Office at (208) 354-2323.
