CJM Canal Relocation

SUMMARY: The application proposes the re-alignment of an irrigation canal that includes wetland mitigation. The project goal is to relocate functional wetlands associated with Buffalo Springs Ditch prior to site development. This includes relocating 880 linear feet of ditch and relocating .39 acres of palustrine emergent wetlands.

REVIEW PROCESS: For Site Plan Review the Administrator is the review authority except when, at the Administrator’s discretion, Site Plans for projects over 5,000 square feet or that disturb more than 5,000 square feet of ground are forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Commission for review during a public meeting in accordance with Article 14.3. See Art. 14.6 for Site Development Permit approval criteria. This Development is more than 5,000sf (.39 acres of emergent wetlands are being relocated and 880 feet of ditch). This application was approved with conditions at a Public Meeting during the January 8, 2025, Planning & Zoning Commission meeting.
