INITIAL PUBLIC NOTICE
Â
City of Driggs has applied for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fund the Teton Creek Restoration Project between Cemetery Rd and Hwy 33 in the City of Driggs and adjacent unincorporated Teton County; with matching funds provided by the City of Driggs. Pursuant to 44 CFR Part 9.12, FEMA gives early notice under Executive Order (EO) 11988, Floodplain Management or EO 11990, Wetland Protection; since this action is located in or affects the floodplain or may affect wetlands. Â
Â
The project site is located in or affects the floodplain of Teton Creek. The purpose of the project is to reduce flooding risk to properties along Teton Creek by increasing channel stability, stabilizing eroding banks and improving sediment transport along approximately 8,500ft of creek channel. The proposed action includes: channel realignment, floodplain bench creation, streambank stabilization with plantings and wood structures, and elevation of portions of Gilroy Lane, Woodland Way and Creekside Meadows Ave.Â
Â
Comments concerning the proposed action will be accepted from the affected public; local, state and federal agencies; and other interested parties in order to consider and evaluate alternatives and the environmental impacts of the proposed action. Comments should be made in writing, sent by regular mail or e-mail to the Responsible Official contact listed below within 30 days of publication of this notice (regular mail must be postmarked or email sent by October 25, 2025).
