On the ballot for the City of Driggs Voters:
Two questions will appear on the ballot regarding the Non-Property Sales Tax Ordinance;
1. Should Driggs increase the sales tax rate on lodging & short-term occupancy charges from
6% to 8%, and establish a duration of 25 years for all local non-property sales taxes?
2. Should Driggs add “Law Enforcement and Public Safety” to the list of eligible uses for the
local non-property sales tax revenue?
The local-option sales tax, first approved by voters in 2000, helps the City keep pace with
growth and address visitor impacts, and is an alternative (allowed only in “Resort Cities”)
to voter-approved property tax increases for maintaining and improving roads, pathways,
parking lots, parks, affordable housing, utilities, and other critical facilities and services.
