CJM Canal Relocation

The CJM property totals 8.9 acres and is located in Teton County, Idaho in the SW ¼ NE ¼ of Section 35, Township 5N, Range 45E. The property is currently used by the public as open space. A primitive pathway crosses the northeast corner, and several flimsy bridges have been placed over the ditch. The property has multiple trash piles and heavy presence of noxious weeds. The applicant plans to relocate wetlands and ditches on the property to facilitate development in the downtown Driggs corridor. The wetland relocation will move 0.51 acres of wetland on the property, and construct an additional 0.07 acres of wetland, resulting in a net gain of wetlands. The ditch relocation will move the ditch alignment on the property, resulting in a shorter ditch (0.07 acres) and a net loss of 0.05 acres of ditch. The relocated ditch will continue to deliver water to downstream users.

The stated goal of the applicant's relocation project is to move 0.51 acres of wetland to a new location on the property and move the ditch alignment. An extra 0.07 acres of wetland are proposed. The existing 0.12 acres of ditch will be relocated into 0.07 acres of ditch to convey water through the property.
