Airport Overlay zone map amendments and Land Development Code amendments related to runway shift

Project Description:

Project ZC22-7 is a proposed Zone Map Amendment and Land Development Code amendments specifically regarding the Airport Overlay zones. The location of the Airport Overlay is proposed to shift in conjunction with the future shift of the runway. The shifted location of the Airport Overlay will affect properties within city limits and eventually properties outside of city limits.

The Planning & Zoning Commission considered this zoning overlay shift during a public hearing on Aug 9 at 6:30 pm. No motion was made at this hearing and the item was continued for consideration at a future meeting, date to be determined.

This public hearing specifically pertained to properties within city limits. However, you may have received a notice if you own property outside of city limits. The shift of these overlays outside of city limits will be considered by the Teton County Idaho in the future. In addition to updating the airport overlays on the zoning map, planning staff and airport staff are proposing code amendments which are intended to clarify the details of and restrictions within the various overlays.
