ZC24-1 Zone Map Amendment

Grand Targhee Employee Housing

SUMMARY: The applicant has submitted a Zone Map Amendment application for lots 6, 7, and 8 of Block 6, Driggs 1st Addition Section 35 T.5N R.45E. The application proposes to re-zone the lots from Single-Family & Two-Family (RS-7) to Residential Multi-family 2 (RM-2) for the purpose of developing apartments for Grand Targhee Resort employee housing.

APPLICABLE CODE & PLANS: Driggs Land Development Code (LDC), last amended by Ordinance 459-23, effective 2/5/2023; Driggs Comprehensive Plan, adopted by Resolution 379-20 on 11/4/2022

REVIEW PROCESS: Zone Map Amendments are governed by Art. 14.9 of the Driggs Land Development Code and Idaho State Statute Title 67 Chapter 65 the Local Land Use Planning Act, specifically Sec. 67-6511. As such, the applicant was required to host a neighborhood meeting. The Neighborhood Meeting was held on April 24, 2024. The Planning & Zoning Commission meeting held a public hearing on May 8, 2024. The Commission made a positive recommendation with conditions. The property owner, George N Gillett III, represented by Jorgensen Associates was approved by City Council on July 16, 2024 to rezone Lots 6, 7 and 8 of Block 6 of the Driggs First Addition, approximately .75 acres from RS-7 Single and Two-Family to RM-2 Residential Multifamily. The rezone ordinance will be adopted and recorded upon the execution of a development agreement.
