Current Transportation Capital Improvement Projects
SUMMARY
LeGrand Pierre Avenue will be improved during the summer of 2024 to a city-standard paved road between 5th Street and Booshway Street. The project will add some on-street parking adjacent to the schools and include turnlane improvements at 5th and LeGrand Pierre.
DESIGN
The improvement drawings were approved by the City Council on March 19, 2024, following input from the School District, and can be viewed by clicking the link below. The concept plan was included in the notice for the adopted Local Improvement District 2022-1.
The draft Engineer's Report showing final projects costs, essentially right on budget, and draft assessment roll for Local Improvement District 2022-1 may be viewed in the City Council's 10/1/2024 meeting agenda folder. The City Council mailed and published noticed for a public hearing on the LID assessment roll for 6pm on Tuesday November 5, 2024 at Driggs City Hall.

SUMMARY
The project will reconstruct Wallace Avenue between Main St and First St, which will include adding new sidewalks, lighting, landscaping and curb ramps along with new roadway, angled-parking and stormwater improvements. Additionally, a push-button flashing crosswalk sign will be installed at Main Street to improve safety.
DESIGN
The improvement drawings were approved by the City Council on March 5, 2024, following feedback from adjacent owners and businesses, and can be viewed by clicking the links below for the sidewalks and road projects, which were separated into separate projects due to grant funding requirements.
The project, awarded to Avail Valley (Sidewalks) and HK Contractors (Roadway) is expected to be substantially complete the week of October 14, 2024, with lightpoles being delayed by the manufacturer and expected to be installed in late November.
COST & FUNDING
The combined contracts total is $750,262.25, and the City Council approved a combined construction contingency of $42,000, with funding as follows:
Transportation Alternatives Program Grant = $432,515.57
Driggs Urban Renewal Agency = $160,631.88
City of Driggs Resort Sales Tax = $21,614.80 (covering contingency only)

SUMMARY
These three projects aim to improve mobility and reduce congestion along State Hwy 33 and are partially funded through a federal BUILD grant in partnership with Teton County, Wyoming. The Airport Pathway project was constructed in May-June 2024, while the Transit Center Phase 2 project will be constructed in 2025 and the 5th Street Park & Ride (in front of the Public Works Building) will be constructed in 2026. Below are additional details on the Airport Pathway project.
DESIGN
Transit Center Phase 2 design documents will be brought to City Council in fall of 2024 and then posted here once approved.

COST & FUNDING
The Transit Center Phase 2 project is expected to receive 80% of its funding from the federal BUILD grant program, with local match from Driggs Urban Renewal Agency, City of Driggs Sales Tax, and a $30,000 donation from Grand Targhee Resort.

The City of Driggs and Teton County have both received grant funding through the federal Transportation Alternatives Program to extend the Hwy 33 pathway .75 miles north along the west side of the highway to the north side of the Ee-Dah-How Acres subdivision, where Teton Valley Trails and Pathways is working with The Nature Conservancy on connections northwest to Tetonia and East along 2500N/Hastings Ln. The project is anticipated to be constructed in 2025 and additional project details will be posted here as they are known.
