Economic Development & Business Assistance

The City of Driggs is an extraordinary place to live, visit and do business. Our downtown serves as the primary business center for Teton Valley (approximate pop. 13,000) and is located at the crossroads of SH33 (9,000 average daily trips) and Ski Hill Road (3,500 ADT). Our emerging base industries are Tourism / Visitor Services, Information (e-commerce/telecommuting), and Specialty Manufacturing (outdoor gear and specialty foods). Amenities and services such as uncrowded access to the Tetons, a top-notch municipal airport, and fiber optic internet lure and provide support for a diverse crop of entrepreneurs and residents.

The Teton Regional Economic Development Plan was updated in 2019 is a guiding document for our efforts.

The City successfully applied for and received a Community Review from the Idaho Rural Partnership in 2012 which included highly qualified professionals from around the state in areas such as economic development, recreation, public infrastructure, civic life, and community involvement. 2012 Community Review Report Here .

Quality of Life Improvements

This economic development strategy acknowledges that Teton Valley attracts visitors, new residents and investors because of the exceptional quality of life that is offered here, and that building on this solid foundation is one of the best investments towards our future success. Continual improvement in the following categories are being pursued by the city and its economic development partners:

Tourism Development

This industry is considered the most promising for return on investment, given the proximity to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, Jackson Hole, and Grand Targhee Resort, as well as the creation of the Teton Scenic Byway, the upgrade of the Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport, and the uncrowded experience that is offered on the West side of the Tetons. Sub-strategies include Branding and Marketing, Visitor Information, and Events.
